2016 Cold Case — Tessa’s death
Located in the small, midwestern town of Hazel Point, the Rosa Theatre is a historical landmark, built in the early 1900s, and rumored to be haunted. It’s locally owned by Carol Wallace and her husband Henry, inherited from her deceased parents. Carol’s sister, Tessa Bromin, is the beloved star who packs the house with locals and tourists.
Travis is Carol and Henry’s son, who is closer to his aunt Tessa and her daughter Sable than he is his own mother. Carol and Travis do not have a good relationship, but that is the case for most people in Carol’s life. Henry often has regret for not getting Travis away from Hazel Point, but he feels it’s his duty to protect Tessa and Sable from Carol.
Simon Adams comes to town to help his ailing father and freelances for the local newspaper while he’s there. He sees Tessa perform while conducting a review of the show and instantly falls for her. They have a short-lived relationship when Tessa suddenly stops talking to Simon for reasons he doesn’t understand.
Simon goes back home, but he’s still in love with her. Four years later, there is a fire in the back of the theatre and Tessa dies.
Who killed Tessa and why?
- Was it Carol, who resented Tessa most of her life?
- Was it Henry who didn’t want Tessa to leave Hazel Point?
- Was it Travis, Tessa’s nephew?
- Did Simon return undetected and kill Tessa out of anger?
- Could it be Tessa’s understudy who was jealous of Tessa in the spotlight?
2020 Fresh Murder — Carol’s death
Carol’s been sick for over six months. The theatre has reopened after the fire. Carol’s marriage is even rockier than it was prior to Tessa’s death, whose case was never solved. A new detective has taken on this case, and she finds Carol’s death strangely connected to Tessa’s.
When Carol ends up dead, new suspects are flushed out while suspects from the cold case are revisited.
Who killed Carol?
- Was it Simon who returned to Hazel Point after the fire?
- Maybe it was Henry who finally had enough of his wife.
- Could it be the actor Carol fired?
- Or something supernatural like the Wallace’s neighbor and town gossip suspects?

Behind the scenes
Izzy’s last name
Originally, Izzy Stratler was Izzy Andrews. But after an online search, I found a few in real life. I struggled to find a last name that worked until I thought of Stratler. Izzy Stratler was born.
I did not search the other character names. There is the disclosure for this — not based on real people. It’s important for Izzy to be unique because to keep her story alive, I will expand on her character, and she will be in other games.
